Good Mp3 Player, Bad Headphones December 14, 2009 Daniel Keen (Colorado) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I ordered this player for my two children and they are happy with it so far. The unit itself is well built and responsive with a blue LED-lit display. It is well-made, however the battery compartment cover (it runs on one AAA battery) doesn't secure very well and might require a little piece of scotch tape over it to keep it from getting lost. The controls are a little confusing, but workable. The 1GB of storage space is excellent, but without a slot for card expansion, a little limiting in the long run. I put around 115 songs onto it and they can be organized on the player by song title or artist. Sound quality is decent and there are a few equalization options available. There is also a recording function which is interesting, but I have yet to give it a go. The only real negative I found with this item is the horribly cheap ear-buds. These will need to be replaced right away. My 6 year old had a painful ear ache for a few days after wearing them- beware. All in all, a good starter Mp3 player for a kiddo as long as your willing to buy another set of earphones along with it.
Would not purchase again May 27, 2010 A. Taylor (West Central Georgia, USA) Bought this for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas. It's very cute and the music quality is great. Downloading to it was easy, as well. However, the buttons on it are tiny and not very user friendly, plus, the battery door broke completely off within weeks and we had to keep it taped on. Since it uses regular AAA batteries, we had to change the batteries quite often, so within months, the battery door was lost. I tossed it and bought a $30 RCA player out of the "adult" mp3 player section and she is much happier with it.
